Little Girl Dreams :: Just For Fun

It’s one of those days… it’s Friday and I woke up this morning thinking random things.  About what I wanted to be when I grew up when I was a little girl.  A teacher.  I wanted cubbies, and crayons, and stickers, and report cards.  Because, well… I’m a nerd like that.  And I am obsessed with anything cute and organized.  Tie everything up with a red bow and I am content.

Do you remember your little girl dreams? What did they look like?  Who did you dream of becoming?  It’s not too late to dream dreams, to envision a future that accepts reality, yet embraces potential.

Just for today, allow yourself to remember your dreams.   Smile, feel giddy, hope.  Whether it’s writing a book, having a great marriage, or running a marathon… whatever dreams stir your heart, don’t push them aside today.  Create your own dream book… spice up your life!

Happy Friday!

amanda joy photography :: remade

When I first realized that photography was such a passion of mine, I couldn’t wait to get behind my new Canon T1i and test it out for all the couples in the world!  Little did I know, that with photography… comes patience.

This year has been a growing year for amanda joy photography.  It’s been a year of learning new things about myself.. a year of not really knowing what the next day will bring… and a year of taking life by the reigns and saying, “Hello life, why don’t you just follow me”.

Less than a year later, I sit here with my new Canon 5D Mark II and I am amazed… amazed at the fact that I could be so giddy over camera equipment… CAMERA equipment.  Someone stop me, seriously.  When I’m fortunate enough to buy a new lens, I go home and just gush… I swoon, there you have it, I swoon.  It’s in those moments that I genuinely consider waiting on the street corner until a couple agrees to let me take photos of them so I can test out my new baby.

This post today is solely to introduce my new logo that I am SO excited about!  I wanted something chic and simple.  Do you realize how hard it is to put together a vision for a logo that you’ve never seen before!?  Woof.

A dear friend, and might I say fabulous graphic designer put together this logo for me.  You can check out Aliya’s latest work HERE.

Hello friend… welcome.

Scott Graduates :: I’m Old.

Last night my youngest brother Scott graduated high school!  It was surreal sitting there where I once was 6 years ago walking that same isle.  6 YEARS.  Wow.  Hello world… I’m old.

Scott is headed to Penn State and we could not be more excited for him and what his future holds.  Wishing you all the blessings that God has in store for you little bro.

It’s All In The Decor :: Just For Fun

When I step into a house that is shabby chic or has some sort of vintage style to it… I am intrigued.  I wonder who the designer was and how I can be more like them.  I go over in my mind what my room looks like and if I like the style enough to redesign my room for the 3rd time this year.  Most of the time I sit there wondering if Homegoods will do the trick?

It’s my thing… what can I say?  Photography and Decor.  That’s me in a nutshell.  A big ball of crazy-lady-antique-shopaholic-can’t-wait-to-own-my-own-house-so-I-can-make-it-pretty nutshell.

During my stay at the Conrad Hilton in Chicago I was consumed with all the little details that the hotel incorporated.  Enjoy!

New City, New Sights :: Chicago

Have you ever been on a flight to a new city and watched for the last 30 minutes after the captain gave the “we are now making our initial decent” staring out the window hoping that the the city view is on your window side?  I do this every time I travel… and this weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Chicago for the first time!

The last words I heard were, “flight attendants, please be seated for landing” and before I knew it, there it was… the Chicago skyline… for the first time.  I’m a nerd and get all giddy about things like this.  The fact that I’m sitting in a huge metal tube and able to fly above the clouds to catch one of the best views of Chicago that I’ve ever seen.  Well, ok… the only view of Chicago that I’ve ever seen… but still, it was a great view.  All I could think was, “Now where are Bill and Julianna?”.  Just kidding… kind of.

Some of my favorites from the weekend…

If you’re sitting here wondering if it’s as comfortable as it looks… it was.

Hello friends.

My love that I hardly ever attempt to step inside of because of the masses of people that I encounter every time… keep rockin’ Apple.

Brooks Brothers… this store just makes me want to be married.  I dream of having a wallet big enough to buy my husband whatever he wants from here!
