Their paths were supposed to cross. A few times to be exact. But they never did. Fate had other plans.
Facebook is a sin. I’ll swear by it! Haha. But it’s also a blessing all in the same for reasons like this story. I had become a follower (amongst many others) of an old high school friend and neighbor of mines newest love story. I remember seeing her status’ months ago that read.. “115 days until Adam is home.” Needless to say, those 115 days flew by (for me at least!) and I was starting to see new status’ that read, “3 days.”
It was then that I found out how their story began…
Brittany worked at a local restaurant where Adam’s brother would visit weekly. One afternoon he suggested to Adam that he should stop in the deli and introduce himself… I think you’d like this girl. Adam stopped by the restaurant… only to find that it was Brittany’s day off. Time went by and Adam was getting ready to deploy. He thought it wouldn’t be right of him to introduce himself a week before his deployment, so he left to defend our country… for 7 months.
It was then that fate stepped in… Adam found Brittany on facebook and they hit it off. They spent the next 7 months skyping, writing letters, and emailing every day.
I had the pleasure of being at the airport today to experience what I can say even gave me the chills. Brittany waited patiently for Adam to come walking out of the terminal in uniform. The day that seemed like it would never be here had finally come… where they could finally be in each others arms… and I feel lucky to have captured it all.
The moment was spent in a blissful state of laughter and joy…and kissing, lots of kissing.
I want to thank Brittany and Adams family for allowing me to be a part of such a special moment. And a big thanks to Adam for being such a sport about all the photos and for doing all that you do to keep this country safe.
